PADDD uses real-life examples and professional insight to show how one unsafe driving decision can affect a person, a family, and a community for years.

Our presenters include:

  • Registered nurses
  • Law enforcement officers
  • EMTs and paramedics
  • Other medical professionals
  • Trauma survivors and family members whose lives have been affected by serious crashes

During this live, interactive class, you'll learn about:

  • The causes of preventable traffic crashes
  • The dangers of impaired and distracted driving
  • The physical, emotional, legal, and financial consequences of reckless driving
  • How responsible decision-making can save lives and prevent future tragedies

By the end of class, participants will have a clearer understanding of why safe, responsible driving choices matter every time they get behind the wheel.

Program Outline

The class is organized around four main perspectives:

  1. Law enforcement: Maryland traffic laws, unsafe driving behaviors, legal consequences, and how serious crashes can happen.
  2. EMS and emergency response: What first responders experience at crash scenes and how crashes affect victims, families, and communities.
  3. Medical professionals: Trauma care, serious injuries, rehabilitation, and the lasting physical and emotional impact of dangerous driving.
  4. Survivors and families: Personal stories, prevention strategies, and practical choices that can help prevent future crashes.
